The Australian Confraternity of Catholic Clergy held their annual conference from Monday 10th-Friday 14th of July at the Glen Osmond Monastery in Adelaide and Parousia Media was there to be a part of it. It was an inspiring event with terrific keynote speakers including Dr Margaret Somerville, Dr Conor Sweeney and Mrs Anna Krohn providing valuable insights on how to spread the Gospel message amidst the challenges of our time and culture.
One particularly inspiring aspect of the conference was the great number of young priests in attendance. Check out the photos below for a picture of all the priests “under 10” toasting two jubilarians. The youthfulness of these priests is so extreme that some have to grow beards just so they don’t look too young!
The conference provided a great opportunity for the clergy to receive informative, practical and inspiring talks about how to fulfill their mission of evangelisation and service to the people of Australia. Parousia’s presence aimed to provide them with faith formation resources to assist that mission. Many priests were particularly interested in resources such as Journey Into Truth, Chosen: Faith Formation and Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible which can be used for RCIA, youth ministry and adult Bible study respectively.
Check out the ACCC website for more information about this great organisation.
All the “under 10” priests at the ACCC Conference toast two jubilarians: Fr Gerald Quinn, a Passionist priest from Hobart, and Fr Terence Hegarty, a priest of the Brisbane Archdiocese. Both were celebrating 55 years of priestly ordination.
On the Tuesday night the ACCC hosted a public lecture about the issue of Euthanasia at which Dr Margaret Somerville was the speaker.
