MORE ON THE TOPICS:
FAITH OR LOVE? WHY LOVE IS THE GREATEST
'Faith Alone', or Sola Fide, has been debated for centuries between Catholics and Protestants. What is sometimes missed, however, is the role of love in justification. If we are justified by faith alone, then what about love? Is love an optional extra, or does the definition of faith implicitly include love?
In this talk Robert Haddad will highlight that love is not an optional extra nor is it a part of faith. Love is essential for justification and salvation and is built upon and ranks higher than faith. Love is not a human work adding to Christ's work but a necessary 'work' inspired by grace and offered up to the Father in union with Christ's work. In the end, faith alone is a dangerous fallacy based on a reading of Scripture that subjects the Word of God to the pre-conceived doctrines of men.
DEFENDING THE 4 DOGMAS UPON MANY, THE ARK OF THE COVENANT
The Catholic Church gives Mary the mother of Jesus many titles, so many in fact that she is often accused of exaggerating and distorting who she really is. How can the simple Mary of the Bible be Mother of God, the Immaculate Conception, Perpetual Virgin, Mediatrix, Co-Redemptrix, Queen of Heaven, Ark of the Covenant, just to name a few?
Robert Haddad will examine the claim that Mary is the new Ark of the Covenant through comparing her with the original Ark and other 'types' of Mary in the Old Testament. At the same time, Robert will show how the Ark, in being a type of Mary, also symbolises the four Marian Dogmas - Mother of God, Immaculate Conception, Perpetual Virgin, and the Assumption.
Finally, Robert will relate how the Tabernacle and Temple of the Old Testament, which housed the original Ark, were earthly representations of God's heavenly abode and how Jesus and Mary, through their ascension and assumption into Heaven, became and remain the Glory and Ark of the Heavenly Temple.
